1893 WCE RARE CHATELAINE GLASS COVERED WATCH HOLDER+COAT OF ARMS

This is a beautiful set of finely crafted filigree group of pieces linked together from the 1893 World's Columbian Expo.

The Columbus coat of arms (which seems to have occasional slight differences when you find the "shield" alone) is above a very niuce watch holder. They are all linked with fancy clasps and wire. Everything has a beautiful brass (I assume) filigree design.

I think having a woman's watch holder in 1893 had to be very unusual. Furthermore, it is I am sure unlike any other you might find from 1893 or that era.

The watch holder has a glass lid while there is protetive felt on the bottom inside the framework. And that framework for the watch holder has ridiculously fancy filigree work. It could have been worn upside down to show off this piece.

The coat of arms is at the top with a sturdy clasp to attach it to a belt or other fob and the watch holder (which I continue to call it for a different but accurate term.

I hope the photos do it justice as it is quite a remarkable piece or package.
