Incredibly Rare Limited Edition for the Columbian Expo Presented by the Empire of Japan
This is an amazing book and could/should find a home with a World's Columbian or a rare book collector.
The government of Japan authorized publication of this book strictly for use by visitors to "The Japanese Section" at the Columbian Expo
I have been fortunate to locate and sell several WCE special edition books. This is the finest of tha goup. Please look at the dozen photos to see the type of book you are looking at.

As a publishing executive for a dozen years before I began my own publishing services business I somewhat fell unintentionally into the antiquarian book field. This is a special book I would be happy to own; I guess I do own it now, but it not mine; rather, it is the property of The History Bank. It is one of three similar WCE limited edition books I acquired to sell. One was printed Russian, the other in German, and both were limited hardcover books
As an aside, one of my 2025 sales will consist of all antiquarian publicaions; I have begun to assemble material for this upcoming sale and in January I will develop a rough list and be happy to share it leading up to the sale. One of the books already acquired is a limited, gilt edged leather bound book with the center abox-like indentation. That center space houses a spectacular large medal of Abraham Lincoln. I had an identical copy of this book just a few years ago that sold for just over $500 for the 1st edition book. When I had the opportunity to acquire a second example of this unique combination book and medal, I jumped at the chance to acquire it. It is just one of the early books I will include in the sale next year.
This special edition from the Empire of Japan is superlative in every way, including the color and black and white illustrations, maps of Japan and of course the text.
If you require any additional photocopies of some of the contents (text or illustrations) please let me know.
NOTE: The shipping charge is for a flat rate Priority Mail box that we will reinforce strongly to protect the book. If you have any questions or issues regarding this book or any items in the sale, please contact me immediately. You can send messages via email but I am now EIGHT days without complete internet service. At this point I can receive emails, but still send any. You can also text me at 206-947-6966.
The following roughly 150+ lots are not in any specific order other than the first half is devoted to this WCE sale, and the second half of the listings include a cross section of material from the several areas in which we sell. I will take a brief hiatus from listsing new material while the WCE sale gets underway.
You should see new listings here in The History Bank Store prior to Christmas and likewise on ebay around the same time.
Again, I hope you find some treasures here in the new Columbian sale material. It is not a terribly large sale, but each of the lots was hand-picked specifically for this sale. collectors. EVERY LOT has been marked down from our regular prices...prices that already were lower than typical wholesale prices of other dealers..
