VERY RARE LTD ED BOOK/MEDAL--THE LINCOLN CENTENNIAL

Amazing book celebrating the "Centennial Medal" for Lincoln's 100th birthday in 1909. The very limited edition book is in amazingly excellent condition and the medal makes this a double rarity--the gilt edged book and the large and quite lovely medal. The cover is a photograph of the actual medal found inside. The photos should give you a good idea of the look of the book, binding and the medal.

I have only seen this one other time in the amzing and quite large library of a Civil War collector who consigned it to me several years ago and that I sold for $500 to a longtime friend and collector. This book is in virtually identical condition. I have collected Americana, rare books and medals all my life and been a seller for 45 years--this is one of the most interesting books I've sold (and that includes, for example, a first edition of PROFILES IN COURAGE (SIGNED), a signed book from Albert Einstein's library and many others); this book ranks up there with the finest. I keep telling myself it is my business to sell this not to keep it. The arguments have been going on for a ridiculously long time--between me the seller, me the collector!

While the only other example of this book sold for $500 in a private sale, I'm starting this at only $369 with a buy it now at that same $500. It was a bargain before and is again. Shipping is free packed very well in a Priority Mail box.

This is a wonderful example of why it is so much better to purchase here rather than my listings on ebay. Ebay takes about 13% so I've lowered the price here essentially at more than the 13% below the Buy it Now price on ebay....save $99 versus buying it on ebay. I'd much rather have you save the money instead of paying it to ebay!
