Scythian Coin from the First Century BC

This coin is one of the earliest on sale in the store. The biblical era prutah listed is from the same time period while the majority of the coins discovered on shipwrecks as well as dug on land are from Roman and Byzantine eras to the hammered coins of England, as recent as the 19th century

The Scythians were a nomadic people of central Asia who existed for many centuries until finally eventually assimilated into other cultures. As a very nomadic group they left very little to be found by modern searchers.

Also on sale here are some other distinctive Scythian items--arrowheads. They are easily identified by their shape and generally uniform (or nearly so) size. I've not found any Scythian spear points but that certainly doesn't mean there aren't any in the marketplace. It's quite possible they're not as easily identifiable as the uniquely Scythian arrowheads.
