Special Sale: Holy Land Dug Roman Glass Bottle or Vial (BV #1)

This is a 2 1/2-inch tall Roman Glass bottle or vial, which like many we're offering shows a great deal of translucence and lovely green color despite the heavy encrustation from being buried beneath the Middle East sands for anywwhere from 1000AD to as early as before the time of Christ.

The group of four small bottles give you a general sense of their relative sizes. This Roman Bottle #1 is the one at bottom right; the second photo shows in part how this bottle would have looked when it was made. It's bright green at the bottom and clear at the top....except for a LOT of dirt.

All of the glass bottles will be shipped heavily wrapped and inside a sturdy box, hence the $8 shipping charge. If we were shipping 2 glass pieces the price could be reduced to a total of $8 as the only extra weight will come rom a slightly larger box.

Since the various details such as chipping costs are entered before we know where an item is going--100 or 3,000 miles from Seattle--and its actual weight. The charge to the winner is automatic but if it will be shipped with one or more other items we will always combine shipping and provide a refund as appropriate once the items are shipped.
