Scarce Civil War Check/Voucher from the Sanitary Commission

This is a nice bit of paper from the Civil War and the Sanitary Commission. I will be listing quite a few outstanding Sanitary Commission and Sanitary Fair items both here and no ebay quite soon. Let me know if you have specific interest as I have a group of proof Cinderella stamps, documents, letters and so on, plus several tokens as well.

I don't know just how this receipt or voucher was used but that it was for more than $2,000 is very unusual if it were a donation of some sort.
