Hand-Carved Chinese Jade Snuff Bottle
I've always been partial to Jade ever since my parents took me to the Seattle Art Museum as a quite young school kid. The museum, which moved to expansive downtown quarters many years ago, left that jade collection behind when the building became the Asian Art Museum. I have no clue why I was so taken by jade, but I've only enjoyed it more over the years.
While most carved snuff bottles tend to be, this was the only jade one I have found that was quite simple and I immediately acquired it. If you share my enthusiasm for jade and/or collect Asian carved art, this should be of interest. Also, it is very inexpensive. I don't know the age but I would consider it "modern" which pretty much would indicate mid-century (20th).
I have more than 20 snuff bottles, several of which are for sale and the majority of which are permanent residents of a shelf in my office.
