#170-CIVIL WAR SALE: VERY RARE ORIGINAL CONFEDERATE CARTRIDGE BOX METAL PLATE

As most collectors know, looking for anything from the Confederacy is many times tougher than hunting for Union artifacts. You will notice that the plate was NOT holed for attachment; the original wire used to attach it remains on the reverse.

The condition of this item is much better than most "CSA" plates--if/when you can find them.

One of my customers about 25 years ago very much wanted a CSA plate of this type; he looked for years and didn't hesitate when he finally found one for $500+.

I haven't seen any in the last couple of years and when I have, they have been broken, scratched, chipped and worse; and when in this condition, generally more than circa 2000.
