CENTURY 21 SALE-OPENS JULY 1st--CHROME & ENAMEL LICENSE PLATE TOPPER

A chrome and enamel license plate topper, although it has mouting screws imbedded in the back of the very large item, probably intended not officially as a plate topper but rather, next to the license plate so that the large "badge" could be mounted on bumper or grill. Remember, too, that cars were dramatically different in appearance in 1962 than today. Various toppers in the marketplace today--and there are many--are much lighter than this 63-year-old piece. And, with weight more like a license plate itself and a different means for attaching, I would think that this item would be best served in a collector's cabinet on display than somehow drilling a pair of holes in the bumper of your car.
You can see in the close-up photo that the only text on the blank reverse is the "made in Holland" engraving that is very small. Holland was probably second in the production of high quality Century 21 items behind the leader, Germany.
As those familiar with the History Bank (selling since 1979 and selling on ebay since 1998) are likely aware that we have very special interest and expertise expertise in our two fasvorite world's fairs, the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and the 1962 Seattle Centruy 21 Exposition about which we have published THREE books with a 4th underway and others yet to be formally deliniated. We have sold literally thousands of items from these two fairs over our years on ebay. We have also sold a great many additional items direct before there was an ebay, via our own online store and through Heritage Auctions. We have worked with Heritage on many occasions .
The few we have seen on ebay in the last year have sold for $135-$210....and this one can be yours as part of this sale for just 84.99.
We're working to post several outstanding sales beginning in October--Civil War, Ancient Coins & artifacts and this brief taste of Century 21--each item marked down!
