This is the scond of two of these (similar but different) clothing ledgers in the sale. It is one of the least expensive of all government documents in this sale as well. We're a bit hampered on both private and government documents when it is so difficult ro decipher the hand writing and thus correct spellings of soldiers' names. Even after more than 40 years using such documents in research as well as purchasing them for resale, I admit that I still have a great deal of difficulty reading the handwriting. It is one of the most frustrating aspects of working with historical documents; for the sake of accuracy in all I write and sell, I never "guess" at a spelling as it could cause all sorts of issues down the rode. No researcher wants to find out they cited an authority....who had it wrong.
