This button, besides being quite rare, is in exquisite condition. It is about the same size of a U.S. quarter and if you look at the first photo of the front of the button it is in amazing condition. It looks as if it had just rolled off the manufacturing line.

This design was the official seal of the the state of South Carolina's during the Civil War. It has the large letters "S" and "C" mid-button on the left and right of the tree.

This is one of the nicest and rarest buttons from the Civil War.
