#117-CIVIL WAR SALE: DECLARATION BY SOLDIER VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE IN DEFENSE OF NEW ORLEANS

This is a declaration of a Union volunteer confirming he was indeed volunteering and it has all the typical fine print. There are a great many of these documents that are similar but not exactly the same. What I found interesting here was that the document specified that he was enlisting to help defend New Orleans. I'd not seen other enlistment documents that were specific like this.

As with the many government documents listed in this sale, I have tried to keep them at wholesale or below levels to make them very affordable.

I and my staff have devoted a huge amount of my time over the years to the Civil War, writing and producing 8 books on this subject.

You will notice that in this sale that I have included several of the books I have written; all are priced at just $10 for this sale, regardless of their cover prices (many would be grossly underpriced having been published in the 1990's). For some I have hardcover and/or softcover available. In cases where I have both hardcover and softcover available in stock I will automatically provide you the hardcover editions. If you look through that listing and would like to know about other books I have written or produced, please send me a note. Some of the non-Civil War topics about which I have written include the Yukon Gold Rush, the World's Columian Exposition, the Seattle World's Fair, baseball, the Alaska poetry of Robert Service and the World War II atrocities of the Holocaust, among others.
